Ken Cuccinelli is currently the Attorney General of Virginia and is a former State Senator from Northern Virginia. Ken grew up in Fairfax, graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in engineering and later obtained both a masters and law degree from George Mason University. He and his wife Teiro have been married for over 20 years and have been blessed with five daughters and two sons. They currently reside in Prince William County.

Ken was sworn in as Virginia’s Attorney General on January 16, 2010. As Attorney General, he has become best known for his efforts to preserve liberty and protect the Constitution.

During his speech the Attorney General described his personal background and what he believes is important in his desire to lead Virginia as Governor.

Ken is determined to pursue pro-growth policies to bring new businesses to Virginia, help more folks start their own businesses and ensure the growing economy reaches every region of our state, including the Eastern Shore.   He vowed to continue his efforts to cut waste and reduce government spending. As well as reducing tax burdens on families and businesses.   He mentioned his successful record of bi-partisan efforts to protect those among us who are most vulnerable to crime and violence. Specifically his work caring for those suffering from mental illness; preventing and prosecuting abuse of the elderly; fighting human trafficking; his work prosecuting violent gang crime and his protection of Virginia children through his prosecution of  child predators.

Ken mentioned the difference and substance of both his book, ‘Last Line of Defense’ compared to his opponents book, ‘What a Party’.  His opponent’s book was written recently and Ken noted his opponent still refers to himself as a New Yorker and not a Virginian.  Ken emphasized his real experience in the state Legislature both in the Senate and as Attorney General.  He emphasized all the work his office has done focused on JOBS and the ECONOMY.  He said he recognizes the concern of protecting the constitution and opening the door of opportunity.  His suit against the EPA was worth over three hundred million to residents of Virginia.

The event was organized and hosted locally by Melody Scalley, Dona Danziger, Shirley Zamora and Heather Silverman on behalf of the ESVA GOP.  You can learn more about Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and his vision for Virginia, at www.Cuccinelli.com
