The new Eastern Shore GOP Club, chaired by Melody Scalley hit the ground running! The first event organized by the club was the first debate of ALL SIX of the 2nd Congressional District Republican candidates. One of these six individuals will be challenging Glenn Nye for Congress in the upcoming November election.
The debate was held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Little Italy in Nassawadox. Melody Scalley did a live broadcast of the debate on her radio show, ‘Politics On the Edge’, on WESR 103.3 FM. Jim Hoeft of Bearing Drift did a simulcast of the event live on the internet.
George Mc Math, former publisher of Eastern Shore News, State GOP Chair and member of the House of Delegates, was the moderator; Linda Spence was the Timekeeper and Dona Danziger and Toni Trepanier helped with check-in. The room was filled to capacity and had standing room only.
